IELTS Writing Task 1 Line Graph: Band 7 Template (Sample Answer के साथ)

Line graphs Academic IELTS में Task 1 का सबसे आम prompt हैं। ये परखते हैं कि आप समय के साथ बदलते trends पहचान सकते हैं या नहीं, मुख्य features को group कर सकते हैं या नहीं, और सही trend शब्दावली इस्तेमाल कर सकते हैं या नहीं। यह template आपको Band 7 की ऐसी संरचना देता है जिसे आप किसी भी line graph पर लागू कर सकते हैं, और 2026 के template penalty से भी बच सकते हैं।

Band 7 line graph की संरचना

आपके essay में चार paragraphs और 170-190 शब्द होने चाहिए:

1. Introduction (1 वाक्य: prompt को paraphrase करें)
2. Overview (2 वाक्य: सबसे बड़े trends, बिना संख्याओं के)
3. Body 1 (3-4 वाक्य: lines के एक समूह का विस्तृत data)
4. Body 2 (3-4 वाक्य: दूसरे समूह का विस्तृत data)

लंबाई का अंदाज़ा लगाने के लिए Task 2 word counter इस्तेमाल करें। इस tool का नाम भले ही Task 2 के लिए हो, यह Task 1 की शब्द गिनती के लिए भी बिल्कुल ठीक काम करता है।

Step 1: Prompt को paraphrase करें (Introduction)

सवाल को ज्यों का त्यों न उतारें। 3-4 keywords को समानार्थी शब्दों से बदलें।

मूल prompt: "The graph below shows the number of tourists visiting three European countries from 2000 to 2020."

Paraphrase की हुई introduction: "The line graph illustrates the volume of international visitors to three nations in Europe over a twenty-year period from 2000 to 2020."

समानार्थी शब्दों की अदला-बदली: shows → illustrates, tourists → international visitors, countries → nations, from X to Y → over a twenty-year period.

Step 2: Overview लिखें (Band 7 के लिए निर्णायक)

Overview Band 7 के लिए सबसे महत्वपूर्ण अकेला paragraph है। साफ़ overview के बिना Task Achievement में आप Band 5 पर अटक जाते हैं।

2-3 सबसे बड़े patterns पहचानें:

• कौन सी line सबसे ऊपर / सबसे नीचे ख़त्म हुई?
• किस line में सबसे ज़्यादा बदलाव आया?
• क्या कोई crossover या स्थिर lines हैं?

Overview template: "Overall, [Country A] saw the most significant increase across the period and ended as the most-visited destination, while [Country B] experienced a steady decline. [Country C] remained relatively stable throughout."

Overview में संख्याएँ न लिखें। संख्याएँ body paragraphs के लिए रखें।

Step 3: Body paragraph 1 (मिलती-जुलती lines को group करें)

अपनी lines को दो तर्कसंगत समूहों में बाँटें। आम groupings:

• बढ़ती lines बनाम घटती lines
• ज़्यादा volume वाली lines बनाम कम volume वाली lines
• स्थिर lines बनाम उतार-चढ़ाव वाली lines

Body 1 template (बढ़ती line के लिए): "In 2000, [Country A] received approximately 5 million tourists. This figure rose steadily over the next decade, reaching 8 million by 2010. The growth accelerated in the following ten years, peaking at 14 million in 2020, almost triple the initial level."

Step 4: Body paragraph 2 (दूसरा समूह)

Body 2 template (घटती line और स्थिर line के लिए): "By contrast, [Country B] began the period with the highest figure of 12 million visitors, but tourist numbers fell consistently to 7 million by 2020. [Country C] maintained relatively flat numbers, fluctuating only slightly between 4 and 5 million across the entire period."

Line graphs के लिए trend शब्दावली

बढ़ोतरी (Increases):

• rose, climbed, increased, grew, surged, jumped, skyrocketed
• a rise, an increase, growth, a surge

गिरावट (Decreases):

• fell, declined, dropped, decreased, plummeted, slumped
• a fall, a decline, a drop, a decrease

स्थिरता (Stability):

• remained stable, plateaued, levelled off, stayed constant
• a plateau, stability, no change

उतार-चढ़ाव (Fluctuation):

• fluctuated, varied, oscillated
• fluctuations, variation

मात्रा बताने वाले adverbs:

• significantly, considerably, dramatically, sharply (बड़ा बदलाव)
• gradually, slightly, marginally, modestly (छोटा बदलाव)
• steadily, consistently (एक समान बदलाव)

पूरा Band 7 sample answer

Prompt: 2000 से 2020 तक तीन देशों (A, B, C) में पर्यटकों की संख्या।

The line graph illustrates the volume of international visitors to three nations in Europe over a twenty-year period from 2000 to 2020.

Overall, Country A saw the most significant increase across the period and ended as the most-visited destination, while Country B experienced a steady decline. Country C remained relatively stable throughout.

In 2000, Country A received approximately 5 million tourists. This figure rose steadily over the following decade, reaching 8 million by 2010. The growth then accelerated, with visitor numbers peaking at 14 million by 2020, almost triple the initial level.

By contrast, Country B began the period with the highest figure of 12 million visitors, but tourist numbers fell consistently to 7 million by 2020. Country C maintained relatively flat numbers, fluctuating only slightly between 4 and 5 million across the entire period.

शब्द संख्या: 165, यानी 150-180 के सही दायरे में।

इन आम गलतियों से बचें

• हर साल के लिए अलग वाक्य लिखना: इसके बजाय मिलते-जुलते trends को group करें
• Overview paragraph भूल जाना
• Prompt से "this graph shows" ज्यों का त्यों उठा लेना
• Tense में गड़बड़ी (Task 1 का ऐतिहासिक data past tense में लिखा जाता है)
